Your vehicle’s battery is the next thing that you need to keep in good condition. Batteries don’t so much need repair as they need replacing at the correct times. You don’t know the history of the battery that’s currently in the vehicle, so the best thing to do is have a new one put in. Your transmission also needs fluid, but it doesn’t need it as often as you think. Most vehicle manuals will recommend that transmission fluid for a manual transmission be changed every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Automatic transmissions need their fluid changed between 60,000 and 100,000 miles, however. If you notice your vehicle is having transmission problems, take it to a service center as soon as possible. Letting a transmission go without repair is one of the worst things that you can do, because they are expensive to replace, regardless of make and model.
